DoubleBlind is a print magazine and media company covering psychedelics and all they intersect with, from mental health to environmental justice. We listen to everyone, from the indigenous communities, who have preserved these medicines for millennia, to the people in our society who most need healing, but don’t have access to it. And we go everywhere, from the ayahuasca tourism industry in Peru to laboratories at leading universities. We’re not speaking to the veteran tripper nor evangelizing to the anti-drug square. We are speaking to everyone who is curious about psychedelics. And we are speaking to anyone craving fresh perspectives on some of the most important issues of our time: the depression epidemic, the corporatization of medicine, and the aching that people around the globe feel for spirituality or some other collective sense of meaning. Together, we dive deep below the surface of the daily news cycle through long-form reported features, poetry, visual art, and photojournalism, offered both online and in print.

Issue 9

There’s now robust amounts of data showing psychedelics hold promise for mental health and, yet, if we’re seeking to reduce suffering among the most number of people, it’s not quite that simple. In this issue, we feature prescient work being done to create more inclusivity within psychedelics, through organizations such as the Asian Psychedelic Collective, the Arab Psychedelic Society, and Queering Psychedelics, a conference series and book highlighting LGBTQIA+ voices within psychedelics. We also look at ongoing psychedelic reform efforts —and people around the country who are already facilitating supported experiences and setting up shop. The care being offered runs the gamut, from clinical settings to underground ceremonies. We’re here to hold space for the critical conversations that are unfolding as we navigate through these experiences, individually and collectively. 88 pages, perfectly bound, printed on premium paper.

DoubleBlind Issue 10 is now here! Don't miss the latest issue of our psychedelic magazine. We’re in a moment of transitions, disruption, and seismic change—politically, seasonally, and, for many of us, it seems, spiritually, too. Our 10th issue honors and investigates that, from a stunning personal essay on the psychedelic nature of giving birth to the need for rituals in our culture for holding space for grief and death. As always, our tenth edition also seeks to complicate the narrative that psychedelics are always inherently good—or make people more liberal. From the personal to the systemic, these conversations feel particularly timely—and we hope that DoubleBlind continues to be a critical and compassionate place for them to unfold.
